AGM, 19 May 2021

Thank you to all who attended the AGM on 19 May.

We farewelled Elizabeth Mead, Margreta Chance, Val Warman, Judy Doherty and Zahra Ali from the WOPs committee and acknowledged the contribution they had made.

We also thanked Donna Sheppard who had relinquished her role as Introductory Course Co-Ordinator during the year and Vicki Seal who is handing over the reins as e-news editor.

We are delighted to welcome Kim Hastwell, Cecilia Schwartz, Mary Clifford and Sivam Singh to the committee and Lucy Powell in an off-committee role as e-news editor.

Val, Elizabeth and Margreta have all offered to continue in off-committee roles, which is greatly appreciated.

Covid lockdowns have affected both term programmes and introductory courses during the past year and resulted in additional work for some committee members. We have strong enrolment numbers in term 2 and really appreciate everyone’s support in what has been an unsettled but positive year for WOPs.

Our Treasurer, Christine Churton presented the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2021 which recorded a deficit of $64 for the year.

Elizabeth Mead presented the Leaders’ report and we acknowledged all the efforts of our fantastic team of leaders.

Our guest speaker was Julie Kidd from DOC who provided us with insights of DOC’s work in an urban environment and that was followed by a delicious supper catered by Sylvia Patterson.
