Hi, I’m Lucy Powell, the new editor of WOPs E-news.  I’m really enjoying receiving your Trip Snips, photos and other information and compiling them into the weekly newsletter which goes to WOPpers, past and present.  Having only joined WOPs last year, I love seeing and reading about all the different walks and deciding which ones I’ll add to my growing list of must-do’s.  It makes me wish I could get out there more often than the once a week I currently manage! 

Please keep all your great stories and pics coming in – send them to enews@wops.co.nz 

Here are some guidelines to keep the editor happy: 

• Head up the Trip Snip with the name of the walk, the day and date, eg. Omaha to Tawharanui. Tuesday 11 May 2021 
• Write about what you found fascinating, intriguing, stimulating, amusing, delightful, disappointing, etc, on the day, rather than a track-by-track or step-by-step discourse. 
• No more than 20 photos, and file sizes of the photos should be reduced (preferably under 500KB). Or you can upload your photos to the cloud (eg. Google Photos) and send a link. 
• If you are posting photos and stories to the WOPs Facebook page, consider whether you would also like to have these included in the E-news, as not everyone follows social media. If yes, send them to enews@wops.co.nz or send an email so that we know to pick them up from Facebook.

PRIVACY: Please be aware that all articles and photos in E-news are open to public viewing. You should indicate to the group that you are sending photos for the Trip Snip and ensure that walkers are aware when you are taking photographs that show their face.  Respect the wishes of anyone who indicates that they do not wish to have their photograph taken.  We will not use a photo with a clearly visible face as the thumbnail photo, but all photos sent can be seen by following the link from the news article on the web page.

EMAIL ADDRESSES are not automatically changed for E-news, so if you have altered your address on re-enrolment please email enews@wops.co.nz to let us know. Tell us your old address, along with your new address, then we can update our list and you can continue to receive E-news. Likewise, if you no longer wish to receive E-news either unsubscribe (on the footer of the E-news) or email us and we will remove you from the list.
