A great team of 15 keen WOPpers set off to explore North Piha. It was a beautiful sunny day as we began by walking through the shady nikau grove near the entrance to the Marawhara track.
We ate our morning tea in the bush before reaching Anawhata Farm Park. Our group of WOPpers explored a section of the farm, enjoying the views, not hiking as far as the Craw homestead and campsite. Fortunately, the threatening rain didn't eventuate.
Descending to Whites Beach via the Rose Track, we enjoyed the natural beauty of the seascape. After lunch on the beach, we surveyed the vista from the lookout, high above the beach. Our group returned to the starting point via the Laird Thompson track and the dramatic black sand beach.
This was a very scenic hike with a great group of walkers.
