On Sunday 14 WOPpers joined Linsey leading her first official walk to the Botanic Gardens and Totara Park.  The group gathered in the luxurious Botanic Gardens Centre which contrasted with a chill wind and misty conditions outside. We passed through beautiful gardens into the bush of Totara Park, groves of nikau and some majestic trees.  Lunch was on large seating platforms built around substantial trees in a spacious grassed area. The Puhinui Stream Forest Trail had lots of new growth and gentle bush walking. A branch falling onto the track ahead of us had Linsey quickly re-route along the stream. Many wonderful spring displays in the Botanic Gardens ended the walk.  A good balance of signs and sculptures with wide formed paths and trails makes for an area accessible to all. Thanks, Linsey, for a refreshing and safe experience.
