TRIP SNIP: Mahurangi - Te Muri Bay, Tuesday 7 November 2023

15 WOPpers set off on a beautiful morning to climb up hill and down dale on the scenic Mahurangi Peninsula.  We took a slightly different route this time to make the most of the views but the weather had other ideas and we encountered a shower or two with a cold wind at times.  We crossed the river to Te Muri Bay and headed out towards the Puhoi River and were rewarded with spectacular views of Wenderholm.  After looping back to the cemetery we crossed back over the river and made our way back to Sullivans Bay and on to Mita Bay and back again for a swim. (Not me, haha, the water is still too cold for this WOPper!)

Thanks to Linsey who stepped in to lead.  She did a fabulous job and we had a fun day.

For those of you who expressed an interest in reading my daughter’s winning entry to the Frank Sargeson prize I have included the link (proud mama!).  Her story is titled Pig Hunting.  https://www.waikato.ac.nz/arts/study/writing-studies/sargeson-prize/winners
