Fourteen WOPpers set off on Sunday morning, 24 March, led by Linsey who had plotted a fantastic trail from Anchor Bay carpark along the Ecology Trail passing Ngaio Bay to the lookout point of Tokatū Point. Lunch was had nestled in shade on the Tokatū Loop Track, which was much appreciated as the weather was hot, humid and magnificent.
Resuming our trail we passed Māori Bay and then walked semi-coastal through farm land on the South Coast Track to descend back to white sand beaches at the back of the Auckland Regional Park camp. Arriving at Anchor Bay some had a swim.
A truly great day of company, coast, chat and climbing. Wow WOPpers! This was my first WOPS walk and a day later I am full of joy, images and excitement for the future.
