Seven walkers drove through the mist up to Mangawhai to walk the Tanekaha tracks, a network of tracks maintained by volunteers. We walked anti-clockwise around the loop, going uphill along the Tanekaha Forest Track, along Langsview Track and back along the Waterfall and Puriri Tracks. The tracks provided a great variety of bush and walking conditions, with slippery mud and rocks and several stream crossings. We were impressed by the rest area with its view of Whangarei Heads and the Hen and Chickens Islands.
