There were 37 WOPpers today under Elizabeth's guidance on two walks out Kawakawa way. We started at Waiti Bay, then went around a little rocky foreshore to beautiful Tuturua Bay, and onwards and upwards over to Tawhitokino Beach. Pristine beaches with hardly a soul in sight. We did pass a crocodile early on in the walk!
Next we drove to Waitawa Regional Park and from the beach divided into two groups, each covering a slightly different aspect of the park surround. Elizabeth's group climbed the north hill to the site of an historic pā. We then wound our way down to the beach, with swims for those who wanted one. Approx. 9 km in total. Thank you, Elizabeth, what an adventure.
