What a glorious Sunday out for 16 very happy women exploring the beautiful West Coast with stunning views out to the Tasman Sea, amidst beautiful bush.
We walked inland from Whatipu from Mt Donald McLean, and up and down some of both the “undulating” Puriri Ridge Track and some of the Karamatura Track. The gravel tracks are very well maintained with rather a lot of steps in places.
At lunch time our stellar leader Carol encouraged us to walk a bit further, but our lunchboxes were calling! Bridgit had Strava on her phone, and we walked a total of 11.02 km and 488m elevation. Thanks WOPS for a fab day.
