Four WOPpers set off under grey skies with fingers crossed, and luck was on our side - the rain and wind held off, giving us a day of clear views and steady footing. The trail wove us through the lush beauty of the Waitākere Ranges, climbing ridgelines and dipping into pockets of native bush. Highlights included the sweeping vistas from the Omanawanui Track and a peaceful, elevated lunch spot where we took in the coastline’s wild majesty. A great walk marked by crisp air, the blessing of dry weather, and plenty to take in along the way.
