Hi everyone.
Last chance to plant at Mataia! This day is open to all WOPpers – not just LEGS.
Thursday 26 June – everyone is welcome to come along to help plant. All plants are small, so easy. We only work the morning – rain, hail, or shine! Then we go back for a truly delicious lunch supplied by our grateful hosts, Gill & Kevin. They have said we are welcome to bring friends to help plant, so partners and others welcome.
With all the recent rain I suggest boots or gumboots. We take our packs with us & hang them on the fence – free to return to pack for morning tea snacks, etc, at will.
Planting can be by yourself or in teams – digger, pill dropper (ideal for bad back people), planter & maybe mulcher? We also need someone to just wander round collecting empty pots and resupplying fertilizer pills, etc.
I’ll have a sign by the gate so come along and help restore the kiwi habitat – they were released here a few years ago and are flourishing now but need more bush.
Hope to see you there!
Cheers, Linda
