Eleven WOPpers met at Horseman Road to enjoy bashing our way up Mokoroa Stream to the Mokoroa waterfall. When we were about to start off we surprised by a shower, but it passed by in a matter of minutes and the sun returned.
As we threaded our way through the beauties of Goldie Bush we enjoyed the new pathways and steps, which make for easy walking. However the highlight was the trek up the truly beautiful valley stream. To our surprise we met up with two more WOPpers who were trekking down the stream. They had taken the Constable Road entrance and had approached the walk from the opposite end. They quickly joined us to continue the zigzagging route that involves seventeen stream crossings as well as the challenging negotiation of boulders and rocks.
When reached Mokoroa waterfall we lunched beside it before heading back.
Thank you Kay for a great stream bash. What a wonderful start to the term.
