Well, 11 of us set out on this beautiful day to discover this new walk and we weren't disappointed, a little bit of everything.
We met at Sandys Parade and walked around the foreshore to Taumatarea Point looking across to Big Muddy Bay Parau.
Also looking across to Awhitu Peninsular ,Glenbrook Steel Mill and airport, had a nice little breeze to cool us down. Stopped for morning tea at a nice little beach and once we could go no further we turned around and walked up a steep track to a great lookout point.
On the way to the lookout we passed this amazing luxury property we couldn't work out if it was privately owned or maybe a wedding venue.
On my return home I googled it and found out the home was built by a Japanese billionaire in 1994. The current Kiwi owners are selling up after moving into town. It is worth $10 million dollars, you would need to win lotto twice to buy this.
This cliff top waterfront Contemporary style mansion ,dubbed "Te Manu Tahawai"- The bird beside the water features approximately 10,000 square feet of living space with 7 bedrooms,7 bathrooms, foyer with floating staircase,2-story living room, formal dining room, gourmet kitchen, family room, 2nd floor living room, media room, wine cellar, garage and more.
Have I made you all jealous yet, imagine the cleaning.
Outdoor features include a gated entrance, multiple decks, patio, swimming pool with spa, separate smaller pool, tennis court, boat dock and a boat shed. This is situated at Kauri Point Rd Laingholm.
Well on with the walk, back up the road and into Warner walk, beautiful native bush onto Laingholm scenic reserve , Tane walk, back to Warner Park and back to Sandys Parade. Kay felt we should do another loop but having negotiated a steep flight of stairs up and back down again and in sight of the cars we had other ideas. So back it was to Titirangi to Lopdell house for a round of coffees. A fitting end to a glorious day . Thanks Kay another lovely walk.
