On Tuesday December 3 a group of 17 of us with Elizabeth as leader set off on a blustery morning. We headed north up hill and down dale. We were warned by a sign in a paddock that there was a docile bull but did not spot him!
We went down to the bottom of the creek and had morning tea. We then headed back up and sometimes followed a farm road and easily spotted red markings on posts. Overlooking Solomon’s Bay we stopped for a brief lunch as we knew the forecast was for heavy rain!!
We headed uphill to complete our circuit where we got caught in a heavy downpour of rain but we were well warned by the forecast. We arrived drenched but happy I hope back at the cars just before 2 p m.
Such is the early summer weather in NZ!!
